I was rather impressed at finding these items as usually I come away empty handed or pay the full price, then find a few weeks later that the item is now reduced. My Puppy; Sky, was desperate to help me when I was photographing the items so I thought she deserved her picture here.

What’s in my handbag tag.

I’ve wanted to do the ‘what’s in my bag tag’ for a while now and I’ve finally got round to it.

Firstly two confessions:

  1. I swap and change my handbags around so much, so this time next week I will probably be using another one.
  2. I carry so much useless junk around with me.

We are finally having some nice weather in the UK and so I have just swapped to what I like to call my ‘Summer Bag.’ I think it’s just the colour that makes me think this, but either way I will always bring this bag out when the weather’s nice.

This bag was from River Island a while a go and is a good size for all the essentials!

From left to Right:

Umbrella – You can never ever predict British weather and so this goes everywhere with me

Notebook– I like the comic book print on this and you never know when you need to jot something down.

Mini Perfume – From Avon. I seem to keep a lot of  things in miniature size in my bag.

Blonde Bobby Pins – That end up EVERYWHERE.

Ipod – Goes everywhere with me, even just to play Sudoku on it (I’m a little bit addicted.)

Radley Purse – Always full of receipts and never money.

MUA Foundation – The MUA range from Superdrug is affordable and of decent quality and so I always keep a spare in my bag.

Compact Mirror.

Vaseline in Rose Tint – My essential beauty item.

Chewing Gum and pens

Flip video camera – I have a fear that I’ll need to video something desperately and hate the video quality on my phone. I hardly use this camera, but I still insist bringing it everywhere. Why!?

Balance Me Lipgloss – A free gift, but it is a wonderful lipgloss.

Phone

Sunglasses

Contact Lenses case

MUA Concealer stick

Barry M Nail Varnish- No idea why this is in my bag.

Miniature Eyeliner pencil- Yet another miniature!

Jergens Moisturiser – Another free gift, but it goes everywhere with me. It smells lovely.

Surprisingly after carrying around this lot everyday I don’t have an abnormally muscular arm! What do you keep in your bag?

An Update!

So it appears I haven’t blogged for over a month now; so I apologise. BUT I have some news!

This blog was a project I worked on whilst at University but now I’ve recently finished Uni and I am no longer a student (boohoo.) However I’ve decided to keep on with this blog.

I loved writing it so much and now that I have a bit more spare time I will try and blog more frequently!

Thanks for reading, and hope you carry on reading in the future!

Now I love anything that is a bit quirky and a little bit different, especially when it comes to t-shirts and so this definitely ticked the box.

It’s a ‘Goodie Two Sleeves’ t-shirt from truffleshuffle.co.uk, that have a range of different and unusual t-shirts, jumpers, jewellery, gifts and accessories, many of which reminded me of my childhood. I’d recommend taking a look!  This t-shirt cost £22.99 and I received it the next day, which impressed me (and the free sweets I got with it.)

I could have bought many other t-shirts from there, but I’m trying to cut down on the amount of clothes I currently buy as I’m running out of space.

This is my new favourite t-shirt….well for the moment anyway!

Pearl Drops Tea & Coffee whitening toothpaste (Superdrug: £3.99)

I am a massive tea drinker and unfortunately my teeth have paid the price for this. Over the years they have become more and more discoloured and I have tried many other whitening toothpastes which either don’t work or the shiny white teeth look didn’t last long and soon the discolouring was back.

Pearl Drops Tea & Coffee daily toothpaste

Pearl Drops Tea & Coffee daily toothpaste

I went looking specifically for an everyday toothpaste for tea drinkers and came across ‘Pearl Drops Tea & Coffee daily’. Now I’ve never tried any other Pearl Drops whitening toothpastes or whitening kits before and so didn’t know what to expect.

It says that it is “specially formulated to deep-cleanse and remove daily build- up of plaque and stains from tea and coffee,” which is exactly what I need. It smells and tastes just like every other everyday toothpaste, unlike some whitening toothpastes and kits that I have used previously that tasted revolting.

I have only been using it a week, but unfortunately I am not impressed. My teeth feel shinier and yes I suppose my teeth do feel like they are getting ‘deep-cleansed’, but they are exactly the same colour as they were when I started. I will carry on using it, as it is a daily toothpaste and I have read that people have seen results after three weeks, nevertheless I’m not expecting much else from it.

And so my quest for white teeth continues.

Overall: 1.5/5.

Max Factor CC Cream (Shade 50 Natural.) (Superdrug: £9.99)

Max Factor CC Cream

Max Factor CC Cream

As mentioned in my favourite five ever items video is Max Factor’s CC Cream. I purchased this two weeks ago and I loved it so much that it had to go straight into my favourite ever items.

Now I loved BB Creams (Blemish Barm Cream) as I wanted something that gave me light coverage for everyday use but I didn’t want to use a tinted moisturiser as the coverage was not right. BB Creams worked perfectly on my skin and so when I heard that Max Factor had brought out a CC Cream (Colour Correcting Cream) I couldn’t wait to try it.

It is available in three shades; fair, natural and tanned. The natural shade seems right for me, but I’m not entirely sure that everyone will be able to find the colour for them with only three shades to pick.

It states that it “instantly transforms your skin with a radiant look” and I really think it does. It smells beautiful as well; it’s a smell I can only describe as ‘summer’, which puts a smile on my face.

CC Cream

CC Cream

My skin is very dry at the moment and the cream seems to glide on and covers up my dry patches and doesn’t emphasise them.

However, the coverage is light and my skin is not in good enough condition to use this simply on its own. If you build it up and use it with a concealer and foundation then I find that the coverage is about right.

Overall Rating: 4.5/5 – simply because there is only three colours available.

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Healthy Mix Foundation (Shade No 53 Beige Clair) (Boots: £9.99)

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Foundation

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Foundation

I know that the old Bourjois foundation had been reviewed many times and had been highly recommended by many. I however never got round to trying it but when I saw the new one in the shops I knew I had to try it.

Firstly I can’t explain how lovely this foundation smells. It says it is “fruit therapy” and you can smell the fruit and it really is a beautiful smell.

The foundation is also nice on my very dry skin and doesn’t cake onto dry patches, which I have found other foundations to do.

Bourjois Foundation

Bourjois Foundation.

I would prefer if the coverage wasn’t as light, but again it can be built up and the colour isn’t quite a perfect match for my skin, but that might be more my fault being in a rush and not testing the colours against my skin tone properly.

It says that it lasts “for up to 16hours.” Now I don’t know if it does actually last that long and I’m not sure if the foundation would be right if you have oily skin. However, if you too have dry skin I would highly recommend it.

Overall Rating 4.5/5.

The 90s are back!

So 90’s fashion is making a comeback.

Now I don’t mean this.

Jelly Shoes, that have tried to make a come-back over the years and I recently spotted a variation of them in New Look. But  hopefully they’ll  stay far away. (Fingers crossed!)

But this….

Crop Tops.

They’re are all over the high street, but yes they were popular in the 90’s.

Batman Crop Top

Batman Crop Top from River Island: £18

Dungarees.

Dungarees are so unflattering, but there is just something about them that makes them a bit of fun to wear.
